People everywhere use herbs, but who derives the most benefit from
their sales? Is it the user or the distributor? It has been my experience that
most herb users do not have enough confidence or knowledge about the herbs they
use to use them in sufficient potent quantities to achieve the desired effects.
Recently, a fellow Gentle Survivalist sent me a brochure from Dr.
Richard Schultze who confirmed my
belief. Dr. Schultze founded The American Botanical Pharmacy and
sells 99% organic, unsprayed and untreated herbs. Dr. Schultze offers strong
medicine and has been hounded by the AMA, FDA and others because he has a 95% cure
rate with his patients. His foundation plan begins with internal
cleansing and is so effective that after the cleanse almost all of the original
complaints have been eliminated and the good Dr. doesn’t need to treat the patient
for the original complaint.
In Dr. Schultze’s conversations with large organic herb suppliers he found
that over 80% of organic herbs are also sterilized with toxic chemicals!
Further, over 95% of herbs used in store-bought commercial herbal formulas are imported
from third world countries where growing herbs are
immersed in a chemical soup of DDT, carcinogenic insecticides and toxic fertilizers!
In addition, Dr. Schultze in his desire to give the patient the best opportunity to
get well naturally are either attacking or avoiding him because his
ethics and concern for potent and effective herbal remedies cut into their profit
margin. If other distributors were to put enough herb in their capsules to effect
a real cleansing process they are afraid that they, too, would be hounded by the FDA
and AMA. Instead they barely put about a quarter strength dosage in a formula and the
patient would have to buy four bottle to achieve the same effect as Dr. Schultze.
Most folks just throw their hands up and say that herbs don’t work.
I was taught herbal knowledge from many along life’s path– from my mother,
from American Indian Elders, books and from the plants themselves. I have learned to avoid
someone says they know everything about herbal healing. In ancient days, Native people
would go to one person who was an expert in certain areas for help and then go to
another who was acquainted with other herbs for other problems. Today most herbalists are
embarrassed if they don’t know the answers to all the health questions. Dr. Schulze
would be the first to admit he doesn’t know everything and is constantly refining and
updating his information. In fact, he insists that listening to your body supercedes
listening to any herbal expert, himself included.
Since I am environmentally challenged and a nuclear “Downwinder,” the immune
system, kidney, liver, circulatory problems and detoxification have become my area of
specialized herbal knowledge. I can help in other areas in a general way, but wouldn’t
hesitate to refer someone to someone else with more
knowledge than myself. I have grown Echinacea Augustifolia, garlic, peppermint, oregano,
catnip nd other plants and have learned much from my plants and herbs I use to alleviate
and heal problems for my friends. When I read labels that say take two or three capsules
twice a day I never cease to be amazed that anyone would believe these small amounts can
do much for them.
Dr. Schultze uses much more herb than any of his competitors. In Dr. Schultze’s own words, “We pack our
tonic brewing jugs full of herbs. That’s 10 to 20 times more herb than other manufacturers. They told me,
“It’s not necessary, you’re wasting herb.” But I saw the difference on my patient’s faces. I make every
tonic as if I was making it for my dying mother or child. I make every batch of tonic to the maximum. In my clinic
I used a 12,000 pound press to extract my concentrates. Since then I have upgraded to a 24,000 pound press. The
only changes I make in procedure are those that make the products more concentrated. I also make every tonic
according to the phases of the moon. Again, skeptics say this is “outdated ... unproven ... unscientific.”
I am a believer in God and a follower of nature. I answer to a higher source than their chemistry books.”
Further, Dr. Schultze says, “One of the basic rules of natural healing , and I teach this all over
the world, is you must FIRST open up, strengthen and tone the elimination organs, especially the bowel,
liver and kidneys. Why? The whole purpose of doing any type of cleansing or detoxification program is to get
the toxins out of your fat, muscle and blood.
The point is, how are all these poisons going to get out of your body? Evaporate? I don’t think so.
These toxins, once dissolved, must be eliminated by your bowel, liver and kidneys. If these organs are not
ready to handle the load, you may wish you never thought of getting healthy. I have seen many patients who
have attempted to do cleansing programs before their bodies were able to eliminate waste and they didn’t
get well. In fact, they got worse. What happens is that all these toxins and poisons that you begin to
dissolve and remove have no place to go. They recirculate and are reabsorbed.”
As I wrote in a past Gentle Survivalist article Natural Healing, “A healing crisis is a
severe symptom, or set of symptoms, which may appear quite suddenly or unexpectedly during the course of
natural healing. If patients are not educated to the normal re-balancing act the body must do to regain
equilibrium, they might possibly become frightened or distrustful of the treatment they are undergoing,
be it chiropractic, acupuncture, nutritional, homeopathic, etc. Holistic practitioners often assume that
their patients understand the self-healing process, or are afraid to tell them that they might be feeling
a whole lot worse before they begin to feel better.
While western allopathic or systematic medicine focuses on offering instant relief by relieving
distressful symptoms, disease (dis-ease) is not generally acquired, (or cured) overnight. Rather, it is
a gradual build-up of toxic material and the resulting weakening of the immune and other body systems.
A toxic body exhibits acute symptoms, screaming for attention, and is then rewarded for its vigilance
with techniques of suppression. In western medicine, symptoms are treated with experimental chemicals,
narcotically dulled, or the body is surgically invaded to remove the offended organ or body part.
There are genetically inherited diseases, accidents, and contagious illnesses, but most of mankind’s
problems are of a chronic nature.”
So, If you require industrial strength herbs to really get well, you must learn them first hand
and up close with someone you have a great deal of faith in and prepare the tinctures, concentrates and
teas yourself or trust someone like Dr. Schultze and his American Botanical Pharmacy. For a free

A more detailed patient handbook is available for $5. If you or someone you love have been diagnosed with
a serious disease or incurable condition, waste not a minute in getting in touch with Dr. Schultze and his
“politically incorrect” herbal information.
